Rust: The Directors Cut.

Rust: The Directors Cut.
The final version of my animated movie epic.

See the corruption!

Gasp at the decay!

Shiver as Manray spins in his grave.

Running at the relatively slow speed of 10 frames per second, my animation shows the gradual decay of a metallic logo sped-up. The gritty and cyclic nature of the the imagery helps to portray the onward march of unchecked iron oxidation, Fe2O3.

(Preview Editions)

Here are some of the early, in production, pre-release versions of my animation. There are still a few problems to iron out, not the least being the timescale. For some reason, I can't yet fathom, the most recent version is running 10 seconds slower as a movie than it does on the After effects preview. It's also clipping a few seconds of the end of the music, still I'm sure I'll work it out.
Rust; Version 1. Running fast and out of snyc with the music.

Rust Version 3. Out of sync and clipped.
Rust Version 3. Still out of sync and clipped

After Effects Trials

After Effects Workshops.
For some reason the majority of my After Effects workshops have become corrupted, these are the few bits I salvaged. Not much to show for the stress I was feeling.

Animation, scenes.

Rust In Development.
These are the individual images from my animation, Rust. The sequence shows the development of the rust across the steel logo and was created using a stop motion style on Photoshop.

These 77 hand rendered images were then introduced in Adobe After Effects, where I duplicated the sequence and matched up the rusting with my allotted piece of music. Parts of the sequencec were enlarged, whilst other were slowed down or speeded up. I added the noise application at one point in my end film to give ita grainy effect, however because the animation was already quite grainy it made little difference to the end product.
